My first approach is the rule of thirds, the canvas or the working area is divided in thirds, I placed the horizon on the lower thirds and the rest is the clouds, I start with the yellow ocher background and I lay out the basic cool colors and the blocking, closing the corners to point out the center of interest. |

After the application of a series of break down colors, I blend it with fan brush, mixing each colors without hard lines boundaries. |

Creating textures and brushstrokes: I start whirling brushstrokes making the clouds energetic and interesting and breaking up the the divisions of each color, I carefully applied the colors in layers, so as you can see, colors on top of the other colors. |

At this stage, the seascape painting is rendered with shades and shadows, add different tone density and the local color of the main subject, foreground descending to background. I fill all the areas and let dry to prepare for the next session. I used paint thinner as a solvent that helps the dying time of the paint. |

Final Stage:
The final stage is the measurement of the density of each colors, gradation from lightness to the darkest area. As in the early stage I used whirling strokes in the clouds, the water have different renditions, a slashing stokes horizontally, creating lines, dash, zigzags and curbs. I squint my eyes to blur my visions and feel the effects of sunset.
